Buhay Port Yir: Likhang Awit

Buhay Port Yir is my diary about my last year in high school. So, if I posted something entitled Buhay Port Yir:*****, expect that it's about any of these three: an event in school, a bonding moment with my batch mates/classmates, or a frustration towards a schoolwork. I doubt if  I would post anything about the third because as everyone knows, I am lazy. A proof is that I started to write this the day after the contest that I'm going to talk about later, but today, I am still working on the first paragraph. Guess I was waiting for a perfect weather to blog. (or maybe not because bed weather, you know)

The pilot entry of Buhay Port Yir is about the elimination round of Likhang Awit last August 8, 2013(last, last Thursday). Last quarter, our project in Filipino was to make a song about the Philippine Literature either before the Spanish era or during the Spanish era. The class was divided into two groups; our group picked Philippine Literature during the Spanish era. To commemorate the greatness of our language, (lolololz just realized the irony hekhek do u get me gaiz) contests are held in our school every year. This year, the Filipino Department decided to have Likhang Awit, a contest where participants should compose their own song about a certain topic and sing it (they can also have some actions), as one of the contests. The class chose our group's song. Kudos to Tracy and Ella for composing that! We didn't have enough practice. In fact, we practiced only on the day of the contest itself. And lolz, Copernicus(our section) was the first performer. As early as the second performance, we already knew that we only humiliated ourselves. The time of truth came- announcement of the top 4 sections. Congratulations to Lewis, Boyle, Joule, and Marx! Wishing you all the greatest for the finals! Go, seniors!!! Copernicus and Goldstein (another section, our neighbor) had this joke that we were the champions, so right after the contest, we partied! "Yes, champion tayo!"  "Guys, 0 tayo, una pa tayo sa 1." Likhang Awit made me realize that contests are not always about did you place? rather it is about did you enjoy? Here are some photos of the party that we had inside our room:
