Buhay Port Yir: Pistang Pinoy!

I am one of the Batch 2010 Scholars of Pasig City Science High School. Five batches have already graduated from PCSHS. Next year is our batch's turn! The fact that this is our last year in high school, but we are still not united saddens me, saddens us. Senior year = Last Pistang Pinoy I hope Pistang Pinoy leads us to a single path!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am glad that what I had hoped for happened earlier! My last Pistang Pinoy was the best! Just a thought of Pistang Pinoy automatically makes me smile. Why? Finally, I have talked with people whom I had not even exchanged smiles with before. Come, take a glance at My 4th Pistang Pinoy.

The culminating activity was held in the morning. You will never discover some of your schoolmates' talents until August comes. Orators, speakers, readers, musicians, singers, and storytellers suddenly appear during August. Six contests were held this year - Balagtasan (for 3rd and 4th years), Masining na Pagkukwento (for grades 7 & 8), Talumpati, Likhang Awit, Maunawang Pagbasa, and Pick-up Lines. The winners were recognized during the culminating activity. Some students and teachers also had special numbers. Dabarkads (a group of senior boys) really danced their hearts out! I am happy for them because they made the audience stand.Sir Raffy, Sir Ungos, and Sir de Ramon serenaded the crowd to end the culminating activity. I am proud that my friend Russel played the guitar for Sir Ungos and Sir Raffy.

 CHACHA DABARKADS!

This is my only Pistang Pinoy where I did not eat together with my classmates. We were busy fixing matters for something special downstairs when the class had decided to eat. When we went up, everyone shouted phrases of happiness. Why?! We brought up a cart of sorbetes for the whole batch! Sorbetes is also known as "dirty ice cream".  The flavors were chocolate, cheese, and ube. In just a jiffy, the cart was already surrounded by people. Swear, getting ice cream was hard at first, but eventually, everyone managed to get himself a cup because the cart was brought room-to-room.

                                           see those arms?

One who enjoys singing would definitely exchange heat for videoke. IV-Marx had videoke in their room, and I am glad that they welcomed other sections wholeheartedly to sing. My mind still cannot process how we managed to sing Last Friday Night despite the heat, considering that some wore Filipino costumes. I guess we were 30-40 inside the classroom of Marx. I felt delightful to see my batch mates singing with smiles on their faces.

Have you ever bathed in flour? We already have! The SSG prepared games for the seniors. The original plan was that we will play at the grounds, but the former mayor visited the school. He should not see how wild we play, so we decided to just play in our hallway, since the gymnasium was not available that time, too. We prepared seven games, but only three were played. The first game was Hanapin ang Barya sa Harina wherein a player must look for a coin buried under flour. The only way to remove the flour was by blowing it. In the end the players had ridiculously white faces including me! Everyone was getting ready for the second game when someone poured flour onto someone's head. I don't know who started that, but thank Heavens for his existence because after that, everyone started to play with flour! I have to admit cleaning the mess was not easy, but it's the crazy side that counts, after all. The second game was Saluhan ng Itlog. It requires a pair; one would throw the egg while his partner would catch it. The last game was a blast! An eggplant is tied to the player's hip. He would use the eggplant to push an egg. In short it was a race of eggs being pushed by eggplants. Mark must have pushed really hard because he broke three eggs in the entire game. Elroi won the game, so everybody started to label him as 'the man with the strong eggplant'.

Thank you, batch mates, for making My Last Pistang Pinoy the best! Let us make the next events even better. Just keep on holding on. We will all be surprised that tomorrow is already our graduation. Time flies fast, so let us cherish every moment. I love you all!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
sorbetes + videoke was the secret formula. I would surely be nostalgic on graduation day, and I would definitely remember this Pistang Pinoy because this leashed our batch. I am proud to be a part of Sixth Batch!
